Business Intelligence Technical Operations Specialist
Salaried/Direct Hire Position - Dedham, MA
Responsibilities:
The purpose of this position is to act as a hands-on technical role within the Decision Services group and team of Business Intelligence Developers, Programmer Analysts, and other data engineering staff to design and implement the infrastructure to support best practices in software and reporting development and BI infrastructure operations.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, program, test, install, configure, and maintain specialized BI technical operations, tools, and applications
Work with the team to educate and support consistent use of these capabilities
Ensure these production systems are maintained and/or monitored:
QlikView, QlikSense, Qlik GeoAnalytics, and Qlik Nprinting servers (on premise and Health Catalyst cloud)
Enterprise Data Warehouse activities monitoring and alerting, including
SSIS
Azure Data Factory
JAMS
Selected Health Catalyst operations jobs and utilities
Design and implement (by installing and configuring the necessary software) an integrated version control strategy:
Implement and manage a workable strategy using GitHub for all SQL-based reporting
Manage In4BI Platform Manager for Qlik apps
Develop a reports repository for Meditech reports
Integrate with the Data Engineering team's use of GitHub in development of the Enterprise Data Warehouse
Champion our team's use of JIRA and Confluence to help us follow an effective agile development cycle
Design an efficient process to ensure end user problems are reliably managed by improving our use of the Help Desk system
Document and educate team members on how to use these systems effectively
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal staff
Organization and prioritization skills to execute assignments and adjust to changing priorities
Demonstrate ability to execute on and develop project plans
Ability to summarize complex information and concepts and clearly communicate up to Senior Management
Intermediate understanding of analytical processing and complex clinical and business functions and procedures that their BI Developer and Programmer Analyst colleagues support
Intermediate understanding of data modeling, SQL, and ETL
Bachelor's degree in computer science, operations management, computer engineering or a related field of study from an accredited college/university
Experience
Four plus years data management experience such as Business Intelligence Developer, Data Governance, Data Quality and/or Master Data Management
Six Sigma (Green or Black) Belt certification, or Lean Training a plus
Software: Data Governance & Quality tools; Initiate, MS SQL Server and Data Quality Services and Master Data Services
