IT Infrastructure Support/Windows Server Admin- W-2 Consultant Our client located in Holyoke, MA is seeking a highly talented engineer with a background in Windows Server Engineering and administration, scalable architectures, orchestration as well as advanced problem solving skills. In this highly collaborative environment, individuals shall be comfortable coordinating activities across multiple support and business units and possess excellent verbal and writing skills. This W-2 consulting role is scheduled to go through December 31, 2021 with the potential for extension. The client is open to remote work for the right candidate. Primary Responsibilities
Support, monitor, evaluate and enhance Windows Server Infrastructure and O365 for optimal performance, security, scalability and availability.
Design and implement automation and orchestration solutions.
Design and implement efficiency and consolidation improvements across multiple Active Directory Forests and Domains.
Design and implement security enhancements to computing environments, including lateral movement protections, tiered logins and CIS standards.
Participate in interactions with analysts and customers as a technical expert for product sub-systems driving improvements in their systems and our platforms.
Deal with emerging and fluctuating priorities to ensure work is completed on time, and on budget.
Manage projects through all phases, from design through inception, inclusive of small to large teams & groups.
Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutions.
Coordinate downtime and outages to applicable systems with application and business areas.
Actively participate in lifecycle management of documentation of Internal Infrastructure, utilizing full functionality of Atlassian’s Confluence product.
Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
Strong debugging, root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills
Experience working with Windows Server 2012R2/2016/2019
Knowledge of one or more of the following - Microsoft Exchange 2016, SQL Server 2012/2014/2016, SharePoint 2010/2013
Experience with Active Directory 2012/2016/2019 in an enterprise environment, including backup and restore procedures, as well as support for multiple forests and domains
Experience with migration of on-premise technology to O365, including but not limited to multiple of Exchange 2016, SharePoint 2013, DFS, Active Directory.
Knowledge of automated configuration management and systems hardening, preferably using Ansible.
Excellent technical skills as well as strong team orientation, collaboration and communication for internal and external constituents.
History of planning, coordinating and executing IT initiatives
