Power System Modeling Administration and Support ConsultantOur client is seeking a highly motivated, analytical, self-directed individual to fill a short-term consultant position assisting the PSMM team in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, assisting MAS Engineers with data handling; formatting data received from Transmission Owners (TOs) into PSS/e compatible automation files with the required transmission planning conventions, assisting with updating the NE model in MOD; creating MOD base cases for TOs; updating generation profiles by collating data from various sources; uploading data (contingencies, project data, load profiles and resource data) to custom tools and managing it; and assisting PSMM with building the stability case library in PSS/e.Primary Responsibilities

• Uploading the above mentioned data to MOD and the Basecase Database and maintain it
• Assisting MAS team with routine data-intensive tasks related to steady state, stability and short circuit cases
• Performing preliminary review and validation of modeling data received, working on updating established guides and procedures
• Compiling, debugging and initializing dynamics cases in PSSE for model validation
• Creating automation scripts in python for data integration and manipulation in PSS/E

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or the equivalent; Master s degree preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team environment, and to complete tasks independently.
• Ability to work under demanding time constraints.
• Experience with use of a ticketing system for open issues and assignments.
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and problem solving skills.

Desirable Skill Sets

• Power System Engineering experience (direct modeling experience in PSSE is preferred)
• Proficiency with PSS/E Power Flow and Dynamics
• Python
• ASPEN/Short Circuit data
