Position Overview: The Wellington Investment Product and Fund Strategies (IPFS) IT team is responsible for providing the technology platform, operations, and support for Alternative, Trust and Global fund business groups, along with an Operations group (Fund services), Fund Risk Oversight group and Product Management group. We are looking for a strong senior support engineer to work on supporting our Fund and Product applications. The position itself requires a solid background in application solutions, development release pipelines and infrastructure support, with familiarity of cloud computing. Candidate will be part of dynamic team that is well known for its attention to detail and delivery record Critical to this position are the following: hands-on experience and approach to work; ability to work in fast-paced environment; a devops mindset including support; taking an interest, being proactive and participating in the broader team meetings and offering tactical solutions; excellent communication skills; creative problem-solving.
Responsibilities: As a member of the IPFS Technology Team, this individual will be responsible for maintaining the stability of our suite of applications. The individual will participate in development activities to successfully support existing applications, and work with colleagues to develop and implement solutions to meet business outcomes. These efforts are based on Core Java, AWS, Spring Framework, and Database technologies. Specific responsibilities include:
Work with a DevOps mindset and develop acumen for sharp troubleshooting techniques.
Crisis management skills.
Hands on experience on monitoring tools for Application, Service, Infrastructure and Data Quality Monitoring.
Responsible for sustained engineering efforts including maintaining code quality, unit testing, continuous integration, release management, performance tuning and execution.
Directly contributing to agile builds and deployments to production and providing technical support once code is deployed.
Challenge and contribute to designs with respect to application stability (resiliency, recoverability) topics.
Demonstrated ability to successfully work with Cloud architectures.
Being an adaptable, self-motivated learner with a willingness to take ownership of various projects to support in fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or a related field.
seven (7) years of experience as a software developer supporting complex applications through the development lifecycle.
Experience in developing complex applications using (while having a strong command of) Core Java, Spring frameworks, Node and Python technologies.
Experience with SQL and RDBMS technologies.
Strong expertise in AWS services like S3, EC2, DynamoDB, ECS, Elasticsearch, CloudFormation.
Demonstrated understanding of modern software development and test methodologies including experience on GIT and Jenkins CI.
Experience with centralized logging systems.
Knowledge of sysadmin skills in Linux, Windows, Networking layers, Load Balancing.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Willingness to work both collaboratively and independently based on the task, in a fast-paced business critical environment.
Experience in Financial Industry is preferred

If they have Node experience, they may be on the enhancement engineer track.
