Headquartered in Northborough, Mass., Aspen Aerogels manufactures its products at its East Providence, R.I. facility. Summary:The Director of Marketing is a senior management position. The role will have responsibility for Aspen’s marketing department, including Product Management, Product Marketing, and Regional Marketing staff. The Director will have responsibility to develop and execute Aspen’s marketing strategy that is aligned with company’s goals. The role will have the responsibility to develop, implement, and execute Aspen’s global strategy and partner with Aspen’s sales leadership to grow Aspen’s energy infrastructure and building construction segments. The Director will work closely with Sales, Technical Services, Manufacturing, Finance, and Commercial Operations to successfully and profitably grow Aspen’s business. Job Responsibilities:Build, manage and retain a team of industry-leading marketing professionals who will aggressively build our business and support development of a strong sales pipeline of opportunities. Current marketing roles, include Product Management, Product Marketing, and Regional Marketing.

Responsible and accountable to demonstrate strong collaboration and teamwork with Aspen’s sales, sales effectiveness, technical service, commercial operations team; insuring effectiveness and efficiency of the commercial organization.

Execute Aspen’s performance management system, by setting performance goals and objectives, performing employee performance reviews.

Provide leadership to team members leveraging the strengths of the team and holding people accountable.

Develop and implement strategic and tactical plans to achieve corporate top-line revenue growth and gross margin objectives.

Conduct market segment research and analysis to determine market trends, competitor strategies.

Responsible for value proposition development, validation and refinement for energy infrastructure and building construction segments.

Responsibility for brand management and corporate identity, manage the company image on social media channels, and analyze channel effectiveness against company goals.

Lead the operation of a company’s website and digital programs.

Develop and manage marketing operating budgets.

Plan and oversee advertising, direct marketing, promotion, and customer events.

Overall responsibility for Aspen’s Product Management function, including Aspen’s stage-gate product development process, which is led by the Product Management role reporting to this position. Drive product development, working closely with manufacturing, R&D, sales, and marketing from product creation through go-to-market strategy.

Develop and recommend product positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.

Coordinate ongoing support of the regional sales team to ensure best practices in sales effectiveness are practiced, monitored, and optimized.

Coordinate marketing campaigns with sales activities globally.

Perform competitive product analysis.

Represent the Company with the highest level of professionalism to customers, suppliers, and investors.

Manage agency providers, consultants, freelancers and other suppliers, including contract negotiation and management

Special Skills:Ability to communicate effectively in orally or in written form with co-management, internal and external customers.

Self-starter with the ability to work with a team as well as individually

Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, both domestic and international.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools, especially Excel, Powerpoint and Word.

Job Qualifications:Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree Marketing and/or Engineering or other like technical degree required, additional Marketing and/or Business courses or an MBA highly desirable.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and marketing leadership roles.

DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Helps plan, organize, direct, regulate and review the operation of the Project. Subject to Commission direction and approval, determines and develops operating policies; defines the organizational structure, divisions and assignment of functions and lines of authority to carry out the Project\'s purpose, including business, technical, scientific, and operating functions; recommends salary structure and working conditions. Helps plan and maintain an employee relations program. Oversees the planning and direction of a training program for Project personnel; instructs subordinates, reviews and evaluates work and takes appropriate action to maintain an effective working force. 3.Oversees the evaluation of program operations, confers with subordinate staff regarding progress and problems and provides consultation and assistance as indicated; oversees work of the various functional units; directs special studies in problem areas; provides for the performance of technical and scientific programs as indicated. 4.
