The Event & Catering Sales individual is responsible for the sales, service, planning, organization, communication and overall execution of all events. This individual is responsible for achieving food and beverage budget, rentals and other components of the event through sales and up selling techniques. The ability to work independently, understand and analyze the needs and expectations of the client is imperative while maximizing revenue for each event. Clear communication of the client's expectations must be communicated to each internal department in the form of accurate and complete contracts which set forth all details for the event. The candidate must be a self-starter who is able to juggle multiple priorities and manage a variety of special events, be extremely organized, detail-oriented and creative, have high energy, a positive attitude and be a team player.

Additional responsibilities include the following:

-Respond to all inquiries for proposals and pursues leads for events

-Present, negotiate, and successfully sell function space, rental items and any other related aspects of the event

-Report to the ownership/management to discuss upcoming events relating to planning and execution of functions

-Track all deposits and payments collected and other miscellaneous relative administrative duties

-Keep a calendar of events, rentals and other building uses to prevent conflicts

-Convert prospective clientele into customers through on-site visits/meetings and proactive communication

-Conduct outbound sales initiatives to educate target markets on the features of the company, transitioning them from prospective clients to definite clients

-Be present and on-site for all weddings/ events contracted Successful Private Event Marketing Coordinators must have plenty of energy and initiative and must be self-driven, ambitious and bursting with ideas.

Requirements:

-Working experience in functions or similar hospitality environment

-Excellent communication and organizational skills

-Basic computer skills

-Must be able to work a varying schedule, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays
