We are currently seeking a caring and patient individual to join the LIFE family as a Direct Care Professional (DCP) providing instruction, support, and to serve as a positive example to our active young adult clients with learning and cognitive disabilities.
The DCP assists clients by helping them to maximize their independence in the community and their home by assisting with life skills cooking, planning and reviewing daily/weekly schedules, cleaning, assisting in preparation for their morning, evening or night routines as needed, etc. and on errands and social activities in the community.
Position is 35-40 hours weekly (Monday-Friday 11AM-7PM).
Applicant must project a positive and patient personality and provide ongoing support, interaction and encouragement to our clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be +18 years old
Kindness and patience
Valid MA driver's license required with acceptable driving record and reliable vehicle (mileage is reimbursed)
Must be able to effectively communicate in both verbal and written form with supported individuals, parents and coworkers
Experience with Learning Disabled population a plus, but WE WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON
Must be able to pass a CORI and fingerprint background check
Must be willing to attend required training classes (LIFE will provide)
