Position: Mason. 40 hours/week (weather dependent) plus overtime (dependent on project schedule and weather), some Saturdays will be required. Projects are located in Rhode Island and Southeastern MA.
Job Description:
- Execute tasks as instructed by Foreman.
- Build masonry structures including but not limited to decorative walls, retaining walls, veneer, field stone walls, patios with concrete pavers and natural stone, steps, counters and outdoor kitchens, fire pits, water features
- Assist in all aspects of project construction including excavation, drainage and landscaping
- Mix various forms of concrete and mortar
- Cut and shape various forms of stone and concrete
- Operate various tools and equipment including: dump trucks, heavy equipment such as track loaders and excavators, demo saws and chainsaws, grinders, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
- Assist in all aspects of project construction including excavation and planting
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning when requested by Foreman
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
- Attend all required safety, skill and leadership development trainings
- Foster a team work rich environment
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
- Communicate with Foreman about materials needed for jobs and equipment issues
- Participate in continuing education opportunities when required including the registered Apprenticeship Program through the Rhode Island Nursery and Landscape Association
Requirements:
- Must have valid drivers license, good driving record, and transportation to either the job site or to the shop in Rehoboth, MA
- Capable of operating equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Capable of reading and understanding landscape plans
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the landscape industry
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to lift a minimum of 100 lbs, work in all weather conditions, and maintain a productive stamina
- Flexible hours including occasional Saturdays
- Must be punctual
