Position Summary –Looking for a mechanic with truck or trailer Bodyshop experience.
Experience with Roof replacement, body panels, roof rails, bottom rails and any other body work needed
Aluminum welding experience and fabrication experience.
Semi Trailer Mechanics are responsible for performing preventative maintenance (PM’s), FHWA’s, and general repairs on trailers that meet company and DOT standards. Mechanics must complete work in a timely, safe and productive manner, they must also be able to provide diagnostics and troubleshooting advice to company management and customers.Job Responsibilities – Diagnose and repair semi-trailers, liftgates, and refrigerated trailers including preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs to air and hydraulic brakes, tires, suspension (air and spring), electrical and structural. Identify, diagnose and repair trailer related issues. Diagnose and repair trailer components such as doors, floors, roofs, side panels and lights. Perform preventative maintenance (PM’s) on trailer equipment including routine repairs and completing repair orders. Perform basic or routine welding tasks. Exhibit and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and management team. Contribute to goals of the shop and the company. Utilize available resources (i.e. parts manuals, suppliers, computers) and other resources to assist in repairs and securing needed parts. Ensure proper documentation is complete, correct, and submitted on time. Abide by all company policies and safety rules, assist in maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Physical Requirements –The work required for the trailer mechanic position is considered heavy physical work that can require the following levels of physical exertion: 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform physical work both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions including but not limited to cold, heat, rain and snow. Potential candidate must be able to: Walk, lift, reach, stoop, grasp, balance, climb, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time. Operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment. Demonstrate the ability to hear and accurately interpret mechanical, technical information in a repair shop environment.
