Job Description

Biogen’s strategy is to discover, develop and deliver innovative therapies that improve the lives of patients with devastating neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease.

The Associate Medical Director will serve as one of the main points in the Biogen Global Medical organization to provide strategic input/guidance into the development and execution of the medical strategy for Alzheimer’s disease (AD).

The Associate Medical Director will define the stakeholder engagement strategy and align on the priorities and execution of key activities. He/She will provide scientific expertise in AD and will work in close collaboration with internal cross-functional stakeholder (e.g. Commercial, Clinical, Compliance, etc.) with a focus on the US affiliate. The Medical Director will also work in collaboration with external stakeholders (e.g, Key Medical Experts, professional societies).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:


Leadingthe development and execution of external stakeholder engagement plan
Building and maintaining external relationships among AD key medical experts and professional societies to support successful execution of key tactics
Collaboratingwith key stakeholders (internal and external) to deliver against the stakeholder engagement plan
Leading efforts to identify how care of AD patients may evolve with therapies that may delay the disease progression
Providingscientific leadership to cross-functional efforts related to stakeholder engagement including Commercial and Market Access

Qualifications

MD, PhD, PharmD with minimum of 5years of pharmaceutical industry experience in Medical Affairs
Alzheimer’s disease experience is preferred
Ability to adapt to change while maintaining strategic focus
Strong Matrix collaboration and leadership skills are required, as well executional ability to organize, manage and motivate are key competencies for this role
Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific and medical information to both internal and external customers
Strong interpersonal skills and project management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
