Job Description

Locus Robotics is seeking a Vice President of Operations to implement, maintain, and execute overall manufacturing and operational excellence throughout our assembly, refurbishment and supply chain teams. The successful candidate for this role will be a collaborative business leader with strong technical experience in project and program management, production development and quality engineering disciplines. The VP of Operations will lead in-house and contract manufacturing, warehouse operations and manufacturing engineering for our facility in Wilmington, MA, along with future expansion in Europe. The ability to work collaboratively, develop successful internal and cross-functional relationships with multiple stakeholders and to successfully influence outputs will be critical to your success. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute manufacturing operations strategy to align with Locus Robotics’ business plan.
  • Develop a strategic quality initiative, and organization an environment that maintains compliance to ISO Standards.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations are world-class and meet the needs of all internal and external customers with an emphasis on process, quality, productivity, budget control and profitability.
  • Develop and implement policies and programs designed to maximize capacity and ensure the highest quality at the lowest cost in a safe working environment.
  • Build organizational capabilities and agreement to address issues such as pilot manufacturing, product prototypes, product development, transfer to volume manufacturing, etc.
  • Evaluate all current production systems and processes and provide strategic leadership to process engineering activities.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate enhancements to ensure the achievement of long-term objectives.
  • Develop and implement the facilities management and site management strategies including any facility expansions to complement and support corporate objectives.
  • Improve operating margins by establishing, measuring, and meeting goals related to, but not limited to, on-time delivery, cycle time reduction, yield improvement, internal rework and improved throughput.
  • Participate in business planning process, develop and communicate the manufacturing strategy, provide input from a manufacturing viewpoint into product design, standardization, manufacturability and required technologies.
  • Develop business models for current and future manufacturing locations that support Locus Robotics’ business plan.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing throughout organization.
  • Responsible for selecting Contract Manufacturers and negotiating relationships

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience at the executive level in Operations and Manufacturing.
  • 10+ years of experience working in a manufacturing, operations, engineering, product and program management environment.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in leading Hardware NPI programs, Manufacturing Quality or similar functions.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant field, post-graduate degree preferred.
  • Proven track record as a team leader with a strong understanding of management practices.
  • Demonstrated project and budget management skills.
  • Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proven problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
