Summer Toddler Assistant Teacher
June 10 - August 2, 2019 (set-up days are June 6 & 7)
Join us for a lots of fun this summer! We are looking for a Lead Toddler Teacher for our eight week Summer Discovery program beginning June 10 and ending August 2, 2019.
The Summer Discovery Toddler Lead is responsible for leading our 9-child summer Toddler program, which includes:
Set up and break down of summer program
Leading the day-to-day classroom operations of a 9-child Toddler class with ages between 2-3 years old, ensuring the safety and comfort of all children in classroom
Directly supervise assistant and aftercare staff on daily basis
Planning and implementing age appropriate activities and projects
Daily communication with parents during drop-off and pick-up
Ensuring compliance to DEEC standards
Ensuring grounds & classroom setting are clean and well-maintained
This role requires a person of high emotional intelligence who excels in clear and honest communication. They must embody the AMS philosophies in their words and actions. Must possess excellent people skills, creativity, and have extensive experience with children and parents. Experience supervising others is also desired. The successful candidate MUST have successful experience working with and leading Toddlers. EEC certification required. Experience with Montessori education is also a positive.
This position reports directly to the Assistant Head of School and Head of School.
Hours at school are from 11:00 am 5:45 pm during the nine weeks of summer sessions from June 10 to August 2, 2019. Hours to include 30 minute paid lunch and 30 minutes of prep time out of classroom daily.
Pay range $15-$18/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
