Farm Country, a small batch soupery and food company has recently opened a store + cafe in Great Barrington, MA and has openings for experienced FOH cafe and counter service, both entry level and management positions. A love for local, seasonal, clean food, with a focus on health and wellness is a plus. We presently offer lunch and coffee, tea, espresso drinks, prepared foods, baked goods and a small curated selection of local goods, but hope to expand hours to include breakfast and weekend farm suppers.
You are organized and focused, passionate about your work, able to multi task, a people person with a genuine love of service. Integrity, work ethic, time management, attention to detail, cleanliness and safety, mindfulness and care are second nature to you. You have a cheerful, positive attitude. Above all you are kind, honest and have a sincere love of food and feeding people.
There are several part time and full time shifts available with weekends and holidays a must, though we strive to rotate and support quality work / life balance.
The manager candidate will have retail and hospitality management experience in a similar setting, though not essential, and the desire to help us integrate the various arms of this business. Ability to work under pressure, soothe customers, serve with kindness and grace, teach, and train staff, implement new and equanimous procedures to develop best FOH practices moving forward and probably most importantly, lead with love, not fear.
We are a unique company with small scale production of soup and food for wholesale, retail, farmers' markets, our store and cafe in Great Barrington and our original soup farm store in Southfield, MA. Established in the Berkshires 17 years ago, after a decade of 'farm to table' restaurant and bakery history in Millerton NY, before the term' farm to table' was ever coined. Our soup was born there and while Farm Country Soup, will always be our love child, we are much more than soup, focusing on simple nourishing food, ingredient rich and nutrient dense. We source the finest and freshest ingredients from our partnerships with local farmers and food producers. Our vision to connect people, food and land in celebration of wholesome fresh food for all, and in support of a vibrant local food system is the core of our ethos.
