//Job Description//

Provide outstanding customer service, while simultaneously having the ability to prepare and manage multiple crews in a positive and supportive manner, utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possessing a keen eye to detail and having strong organizational skills are required.

As a dependable, self-starter, the ideal candidate must be able to effectively and tactfully motivate, train, and lead field staff in completion of landscape maintenance projects. This will require experience in many areas of landscaping including, but not limited to: fertilizer and weed control, proper planting techniques, horticultural pruning, spring and fall cleanups, as well as snow removal. Having strong horticultural knowledge is required in order to effectively communicate and interact with clients and co-workers. Additional, preferred skills include basic knowledge of landscape construction, lighting, and irrigation, and experience with machinery such as mini-excavators, skid steers, chainsaws, snow blowers, and snow plows

Providing superior customer service and establishing positive client relationships are a priority.

//Hours//

Working hours fluctuate seasonally 7am-3:30pm (peak season) with occasional OT, and some Saturdays required. Must be available on an on-call basis during the snow season.

//Wage// $20-$25/hr, based on experience, licensing/certifications, and skill set.

//Responsibilities//

>> Take the lead in training routine maintenance crews to ensure that all operations are in compliance & efficient.

>> Willing to work in all types of weather on various landscape maintenance accounts and projects

>> Plant and nurture new trees, annuals, and perennials.

>> Select plants from nurseries for installation projects.

>> Work with hand tools and basic light machinery such as powered edgers and leaf blowers.

>> Assist in snow and ice management services

>> Ensure that all tools & equipment, including assigned vehicles, are proactively maintained and managed in such a manner that they provide an efficient and positive working environment.

>> Ensuring the completion of projects within bid hours and to work order specifications

>> Identify garden landscape pests and diseases, and manage by natural or chemical methods

>> Act as a ‘conduit’ between our office personnel and field personnel, providing information and general support as necessary.

>> Other responsibilities may also include helping with landscape construction projects, as well as helping with the installation and management of landscape lighting and irrigation

//Requirements//

>> High school diploma or equivalent, advanced study in horticulture preferred.

>> At least 2 years crew lead experience

>> MUST have 3+ years experience in professional landscaping or related field

>> In-depth knowledge of plants and gardening techniques

>> Friendly personality with excellent interpersonal skills

>> Hard working and highly motivated

>> Good verbal and written communication skills

>> Willingness/ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

>> Clean and professional appearance

>> Punctual and dependable

>> Ability to lift 60 lbs. plus consistently

>> Available on-call basis during the winter for snow removal

>> Ability to stand and bend for 8 hours or more a day

>> Proficiency with basic digital technology, especially smartphones (apps) and G-Suite

>> Must pass DOT physical requirements

>> Have or be able to successfully obtain pesticide applicator’s license

>> Have or be able to successfully obtain hoisting license

>> Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

>> Provide your own steel toe footwear
