Polymer Corporation is a growing, well-financed, $20 million dollar manufacturer of low-volume, close-tolerance, custom plastic parts for blue-chip customers nationwide. Polymer Injection Molding, a division of Polymer Corporation, located in Palmer, MA seeks an experienced Injection Molding Process Technician who is eager to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing work environment.
Process Technician
As the Process Technician you will monitor the quality of the manufacturing process, analyze process problems, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Duties to include:
Start up machines and monitor and analyze product quality.
Develop optimal process (including documentation) and monitor processes to ensure product specifications are maintained.
Analyze process problems or upsets and determine the root cause of problems, conferring with production, tool room and maintenance personnel and management as required.
Determine methods to reduce cost and/or waste, increase speed or output.
Recommend modifications to processes, molds and/or machines as required modifications etc.
Monitor and evaluate data collection methods and quality of data for statistical process control.
Recommend modifications or controls to increase accuracy and reliability of data.
Develop and implement SPC methods in areas of responsibility where none exist.
Support the development of new products establishing sound process parameters based upon material manufacturers stated guidelines.
Interface with Sales to identify and support new products.
Skills & Knowledge
o 10+ years process experience within a custom injection molding machining environment
o Background and knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Lean and ISO methodologies
o Excellent communication skills
