Organomation, a leading manufacturer of analytical laboratory equipment, based in Berlin, MA, seeks to fill a Staff Accountant position. Accounting work typically requires 25 hours of work in an average week. However, the company is willing to extend a full time position to a flexible individual who is willing to assist the sales and marketing department for approximately 10 hours each week.
This entry level position would be great for a recent graduate or someone with up to two years of accounting experience.
Founded in 1959, Organomation is a small enterprise with a collaborative culture; so the position will interact with all parts of the organization: sales, marketing, purchasing, production, etc.
Responsibilities:
Monitor & record all aspects of the company's cash flow and the other daily accounting operations including: invoicing, accounts receivable (related collections and aging), accounts payable, bank account deposits and reconciliations, credit card processing, etc.
Actively manage the company's general ledger by completing the necessary adjusting entries on a monthly and quarterly basis as needed
Compile accurate and timely reports on Organomation's financial position and performance for management in addition to the company's outside accounting firm and other consultants
Collaborate with the management team to support overall company goals including but not limited to: forecasting activities, budget preparation and management, cost analysis, etc.
Help establish and enforce proper methods, policies and principles regarding the company-wide usage of Organomation's accounting and inventory management systems
Assist with purchasing, customer service, inventory management and other projects as necessary
Requirements and desired skills:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree with accounting background
Expertise with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel, is required
