Who we are: Ballot Access Management LLC. is the premier petition management firm in New England. In order for anyone to run for office, or to have a question appear on a ballot, a certain number of signatures must be collected from registered voters on a ballot initiative or candidate nomination petition. We collect the signatures required to place candidates and initiatives onto the ballot. We have completed dozens of ballot initiative and candidate nomination petitions across New England.
The Job: We are looking for motivated individuals to stand in front of grocery stores and ask people to sign ballot initiatives and candidate nomination petitions. This involves setting up a table by the entrance to a grocery store and calling people over to sign your petitions. The work is significantly independent, after training you will largely work on your own. You must attend weekly in person meetings and stay in touch daily with your manager. You can generally choose your locations, work anywhere in the state and make your own schedule. We are hiring statewide. No experience is necessary and training is provided.
Compensation: You are paid a base wage of $30/hr with bonuses equal to $2-$5 per signature collected. You will be collecting signatures on up to 4 petitions at the same time. It only takes about 30 seconds to sign a petition and this adds up quick. After getting some experience many petitioners make over $50/hr. Pay is weekly by check or direct deposit.
Timing:
This position starts on May 9th and ends by June 17th. Future petitioning jobs are available on a project to project basis.
Qualifications:
-Outgoing, energetic and social: You must be willing to ask everyone who walks by to sign your petitions in a friendly and appealing way so as to get as many people as possible to stop and sign.
-Hustle and drive: This is a job with no cap on earning potential, you are only limited by the number of signatures you can gather. To make the most of this opportunity you must be driven to do the best you can for yourself.
-Ability to work independently: Most of your days you will be working alone, and you must be able to self motivate to work efficiently without direct oversight.
-Thick skin: You will be talking with the general public about a variety of political issues and will need to be able to tolerate people expressing disagreement with you.
-Fully insured vehicle and drivers license.
-Political and/or Sales experience is a plus not but required.
-Ability to work weekends is a plus.
-Ability to present yourself professionally.
-Ability to work 30-40 hours per week.
-A background check will be conducted.
