Job Title: Data Governance Product Manager

Job Overview
As Data Governance Product Manager, you will help lead initiatives to create innovative services that provide value to our customers, partners. We are looking for highly motivated, technology focused individual who would serve as core member of Data Governance, Privacy & Protection (DPP) product team in a product driven organization.
You will work closely with other product managers, product development teams and global business units. You will leverage your ability to understand our customers, products, services, touchpoints, user / customer experience, as well as data generated, and map that knowledge to provide recommendations on governing data through out it’s information lifecycle stages such as data collection, data sharing, data processing and data retention.
This is a highly cross-functional role where you will work across many domains. Responsibilities include,

Leadership
  • Champion Privacy by Design (PbD) to create deep understanding about DPP within business and product teams.
  • Facilitate privacy management and governance capability as a service
  • Provide subject matter expertise on privacy regulation and demonstrate understanding of key requirements.

Product Definition
  • Identify, define and prioritize opportunities to adopt modern Data Governance best practices
  • Collaborate with DPP product owner and other “Partner” team product owners to establish DPP roadmap, epics, features, milestones.
  • Own the writing of DPP user stories, acceptance criteria and managing user story priority in collaboration with DPP product owner.
  • Lead backlog grooming to decompose/estimate stories based on Data governance epics and features.

Analysis
  • Understand organizational development practices, platform requirements, and project management framework
  • Understand current state, desired state, root cause(s) of gaps. Gather feedback to drive improvements and inform product roadmap prioritization and backlog
  • Define analytics to be collected regarding product, and prioritize execution of their collection
  • Anticipate up and down stream impacts and predict /address obstacles

Enable and Communicate
  • Provide guidance and answer questions from Transportation as a Service (TaaS) “partner team” product owners, product managers, anchors and engineers.
  • Engage stakeholders and “partner team” product owners to gain consensus on shared vision.
  • Provide insight to product designer on user experience.
  • Interact and work closely with Product Anchor to devise solutions and break them down into incremental production-ready user stories
  • Facilitate Daily Standups, Team Iteration Planning Meetings, Team Retrospectives, and Story Acceptance Sessions
  • Establish best practices to maximize efficiency, minimize risk and staying customer focused.

Job Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or History
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in a B2B or B2C industry building data platform products, data management products, policy / compliance-based products, legal technology products, security products
  • 2+ years’ experience as software project manager or product manager or program manager
  • 2+ years’ experience working with project management software such as Jira, or Rally
  • 3+ years’ experience in building APIs, familiarity with CI / CD process and Microservices architecture.
  • Experience in cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google cloud), Data management, BI and Analytics is an added advantage
  • Ability to quick understand the needs, prioritize and collaboratively deliver value by partnering with the product owner
  • Demonstrated success in managing requirements to deliver the product while working with dependent partner team products
  • Demonstrated capability and experience in project tracking, outstanding organizational skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and become productive in new concepts quickly

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or History
  • 2+ years hands on experience working in enterprise data privacy team, developing data governance related products and strategies
  • Proven experience in modern data architecture, connecting business needs to systems and data structures required to reliably deliver holistic solutions
  • Deep technical understanding of Data Lake, Data warehousing, A! & Analytics architectures
  • Prior experience coaching/mentoring teams
