Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent, plus a minimum of 1+ years of related work experience
• Understanding of messaging and integration design and architecture
• Experience with Message Queues, ESB?s, and API Gateways
• Experiencing administrating Java in a Linux environment
• Java programming experience
• Ability to debug problems and quickly resolve issues
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Drive and determination to learn, take on new challenges and become a better engineer

Job Summary
As an Application Engineer, you'll be responsible for the configuration, performance, standards, and design of our messaging and integration platforms. In this role, you'll ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the messaging and integration platforms, as well as the standards that support them. To be successful in this role, you'll apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues. Here you'll be working closely with developers, project managers, business analysts, systems engineers, and architects to support mission critical platforms.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administrate, and support messaging and integration solutions in the following: message queues, ESB's, API Gateways and Kafka
• Work in both on-premises and cloud environments
• Monitor all platform resources and performance
• Performance tuning and capacity planning
• Work with platform vendor support to resolve issues
• Perform platform maintenance, including fixes and upgrades
• Participates in regular on-call rotation
• Document changes, standards, and issues
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and business analysts to identify requirements and assist in the design of messaging and integration solutions
• Advocate for messaging and integration platform standards and concepts
• Review client team?s development for standards and technical correctness
