Location: Detroit / Lansing MI (Hybrid)

Job Description:
Manages technology projects for the Corporation. Establishes project governance, metrics and service-level agreements with the project executive sponsors and leadership. Prepares key project materials including project charters, project plans, schedules, resource plans, change management, communication and status reports. Leads the project team in planning, scoping, execution, launch and closure activities. Has responsibility for project resource planning and budgets. Monitors, analyzes, and tunes team performance. Ensures governance, metrics and service-level agreements are attained through the optimization of AAM associates and external project resources. Performs capacity modeling with the PMO to simulate performance and better understand future project resource needs.
  • Coordinate system/vendor selection leveraging AAM’s RFP process.
  • Develop project governance documents including comprehensive project charters.
  • Develop project plans and coordinate project activity with stakeholders, team leads and implementation partners.
  • Develop resource plans to illustrate project team needs, roles and responsibilities.
  • Direct daily activities of the project team, establishing priorities and setting deadlines.
  • Assign and review the work of the project team to ensure the timely accomplishment of the project plan.
  • Track risks, issues and project changes.
  • Meet with managers, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve project problems.
  • Act as the first point of contact for any PMO communication.
  • Leverage PMO project tools/systems and coordinate interaction with vendor tools.
  • Guide the project leadership, team and other stakeholders to use project data and metrics to make informed decisions.
  • Ensure project governance processes are strictly adhered to.
  • Ensure project status and progress are accurately captured in the PMO tool.
  • Prepare and deliver project dashboards and progress reports to project leaders and stakeholders.
  • Conduct project team and gate review meetings.
  • Coordinate all project communication.
  • Document lessons learned, archive project documents, and close the project.

Required Skills & Education
  • BA/BS plus minimum 5 years professional experience
  • PMO certification preferred
