3788BRTitle:Temporary - PAYROLL ASSISTANTJob Description:Job Summary:Under supervision and according to established practices and procedures, performs routine tasks that establish and maintain employee payroll records. This position is responsible for auditing time keeping records for conformance with established standards; maintaining time and attendance records; entering new hires; performing employee status changes and posting change in tax status.Key Responsibilities:

Maintain the payroll system for colleagues by entering new hires, making status changes, such as salary increases, transfers, title changes, terminations, court ordered deductions and other miscellaneous changes.

Audit time records and data, processes handwritten checks and distributes checks accordingly.

Complete and run cycles as assigned. Process bonus runs and off week payroll cycles.

Review, audit and enters cash payouts and restitutions.

Resolve problems with payroll checks, W-2’s, employee data, tax queries and communicates to colleagues within 24 hours period.

Maintain personnel files.

Assist with any payroll related duties for other entities as needed. Support the department or coworkers when needed.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of two years in a payroll environment or previous position that required data entry or accounting experience.

Previous experience in a position handling sensitive and confidential information.

Previous experience in a fast-paced position with strict deadlines.

Demonstrated math skills (percentages, addition, subtraction, etc.)

Previous experience with office equipment, including 10-key calculator, copier, personal computers, etc.

Evidence of highly developed communication skills (verbal, phone etiquette and written).

Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Evidence of computer proficiency (Microsoft Office) with advanced Excel skills.

Ability and willingness to work non-standard hours during payroll weeks and year-end.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Prior Tax experience.

Working Conditions:

This position will require non-standard working hours during a payroll processing week or year-end.

Works in a normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust and the like.
