We're hiring a Medical Assistant at Emcura Medical, Immediate Care and Integrative Medicine in Bloomfield Twp, MI and Northville, MI and are looking for people who are motivated and enthused in making people feel better. We have a highly rated and modern Immediate Care/ Urgent Care / Walk- in Clinic / Occupational Medicine, and recently added an Integrative Medicine and Holistic Medicine Clinic and Apothecary as we expand our services. Our mission is to build a top- notch organization with wonderful people, thoughtful processes and a positive outlook on healthcare. We help our patients through illness and health by providing guidance, being their detectives and by helping navigate the intricacies of their well-being.

Our team is already tightly-knit and kind of quirky, and we're looking to maintain this special culture. We want detail-oriented people with friendly, flexible personalities to handle everything from talking about the practice and our offerings to our guests, to patient interactions on the phone and throughout the clinic. We'll train you on all items specific to our clinic. Experience with an EMR required, Allscripts a plus!

The Specifics- Job description includes, but not limited to. . .

Handling phones and answer basic questions for patients once front desk staff is occupied.

Confirming patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit. Immediate notification of abnormalities!

Preparing patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, not limited to but including blood pressure, weight, temperature, and others. All items are recorded and entered into EMR.

Prepping and preparing patients for procedures including but not limited to lacerations, Pap smear, DOT exams, audiometry, and many others.

Securing patient information in maintaining patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; always keeping patient information confidential!

Preparation of forms for completion by physician, verifying appointments with patients if required, callbacks of labs when directed by physician, follow-up calls within 48 hours to confirm a satisfactory visit!

Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with all legal regulations.

Maintaining stock inventory; notifying staff when supplies are running low; verifying receipt of arriving inventory

Basic maintenance of equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining equipment supplies; performing preventative maintenance; calling for repairs when needed.

Constant improvement of job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

Serves and protects medical practice bite hearing to professional standards, policies procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.

Enhancing practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring options to add value to job accomplishments.

Specific requirements a constant POSTIVE ATTITUDE!

Optional skills, highly values include MCOLES experience, DOT drug testing certified, breath alcohol certified, Certified occupational hearing testing certified and can include IV placement and IV administration under physician supervision. If not trained, we will train and certify you in all of the above. Occupational Medicine Experience a Plus!

Tech savviness. You have the strong ability to navigate through various software programs simultaneously and utilize simple and core functions. EMR familiarity a plus!

Strong attention to detail and a firm grasp of grammar, spelling, and punctuation

BA/BS degree preferred, not required.

We GLADY provide on the job health care experience, while you work, to pre-med, pre-PA, pre-NP, pre nursing students as part of their hourly requirements and actively teach as well! We require a reasonable commitment!
