Legalpeople is currently seeking a mid-level ATTORNEY interested in a long-term legal project with a national corporation located in SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN. Duties will include:
Advising on contract matters, including contracts with clients and vendors, as well as reviewing and identifying exceptions to legal terms included with requests for proposals.
Support and advise regarding subpoena compliance and coordinate document production and related discovery obligations.
Proactively assess and manage risks: Including litigation matters, contract review, subpoenas, other legal documents (engagement letters/consulting services documents), including all related contracts and agreements pertaining to mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures
Advising on employment matters
Advising on compliance with applicable laws, including employment laws, data privacy laws, and document retention considerations.
Identifying areas of risks and suggestions for improvement, legal questions, troubleshooting problems, and responding to other matters in a variety of legal practice areas.
Coordinate outside legal counsel and related costs
Provide counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits
In-house and law firm experience strongly preferred. The position will take place in Southfield, Michigan and will be roughly 40 hours/week. The position is expected to run from April through the end of December, 2019.
