Seamstress/Tailor (Southfield, MI)
Part Time position
Custom Clothing sales office in SOUTHFIELD, MI is seeking a part time Seamstress/Tailor who excels in his or her trade, possessing a talent for delivering the finest tailored clothing with excellent attention to detail.
Employee must be able to work quickly in a fast paced office environment.
Tailor Job Summary:
Performs alterations as directed for our clients' high end garments and delivers professional finished garments on time.
Demonstrates knowledge of fabric and standard tailoring concepts and procedures with quality workmanship for men's and women's garments
Tailor Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Manages all interactions with professionalism
Tracks detailed alteration production daily
Performs alterations on all garments submitted for alteration, presses finished garment, removes threads and completes for client ready
Completes all work in a timely manner to ensure customer delivery date
Maintains clean work environment and maintains all required paperwork related to daily assignments
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail or customer-service environment
Strong working knowledge of garment construction in men and women's apparel and ability to perform high quality workmanship including hand and by machine
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong attention to detail
Self-starter
Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently with strong organization of time
Working Conditions:
Standing or sitting for long periods of time
Fast- paced environment
Adhere to all policies as outlined in the Office Support Manual and all Company practices and procedures
Tailor
28 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
(Compensation): PIECE RATE
An offer of employment will be contingent on the applicant successfully passing a background and credit check.
