Job Description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for all aspects of strategic, long-ranged demand planning, working cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Product Development, and Sales and Marketing. This individual will coordinate with the Demand Planning team and business units to effectively forecast and provide timely and fact based purchasing recommendations. This person is accountable for establishing and driving the sales and operations (S&OP) process/plan, which includes sales, margin and inventory.

Principle Responsibilities

· Design, implement, and lead S&OP process.

· Coordinate with IBP team and all business units to establish category classifications and data cleansing schedules.

· Lead in the development and maintenance of monthly forecasts for all finished goods parts using order and shipment history, customer point of sale data, market intelligence, and industry trends to inform the projected demand.

  • Lead the monthly collaborative demand review as part of S&OP process.
  • Work with sales, marketing, product management to understand product life cycles, demand patterns, and short, medium, and long-term forecasts.
  • Analyze and develop insights on data from customer point of sales data systems as well as internal order management systems.
  • Maintain forecast vs. actual history data by customer, product family, channel, geography, and SKU.
  • Manage POS reporting and customer performance metrics from Sales team.
  • Ensure there is proactive communication and delivery of targets for forecast accuracy and bias. Drive action plans for improvement in case on non-compliant KPI’s.
  • Management, mentorship and coaching of Demand Planning team.
  • Monitor performance metrics and present critical data that can lead to recognition of areas for improvement.

Competencies

  • Able to process large amounts of data, influence others and drive cross-functional alignment and be able to communicate at various levels within the organization.
  • Experience using and interacting with MRP systems.
  • Experience with forecasting methodologies, techniques, and approaches (e.g. moving averages, exponential smoothing, holt-winters, box-jenkins, discrete probability, etc.).
  • Must possess strong leadership skills and be well organized, self-motivated, focused on meeting deadlines and able to multitask within a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (i.e. Excel and Access) and prior ERP system experience. (SAP nice)
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes management.
  • Ability to delegate and successfully lead teams.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in mathematics, supply chain, or engineering required.
  • Relevant industry experience in the automotive or aftermarket parts business.
  • 5 years of supply chain planning experience in the areas of S&OP, demand planning, and/or supply planning.
  • SAP experience nice to have
