Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with at least 5 years of relevant networking experience.
At least 5 years of experience managing networking equipment.
At least 3 years of relevant experience configuring networking equipment such as firewalls, routers, switches, vpns and wireless.
Strong communication skills necessary including experience
communicating technical concepts to peers as well as customers.
Evidence of strong networking foundation built upon managing medium to large enterprise networks, supporting multiple standards.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate and make recommendations regarding vendor-supplied hardware and software
Desired Qualifications
Experience with network topologies layer 2 and layer 3 switching
Software development, python, ansible and API’s.
Some computer-related technical writing experience
Ipv4/IPv6 network stacks, PoE
VXLAN/EVPN
Routing protocols: OSPF, EBGP
Job Summary
Installs, plans, monitors, and evaluates performance of network systems and makes recommendations for improvement/upgrades.
Assists in developing technical standards and application interface through the use of API’s.
Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization. Provides technical assistance and resolution for network problems that may arise.
Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments.
Under supervision, performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are nonexempt.
Responsibilities
Maintain existing network infrastructure. This includes, but not limited to, switching, routing, wireless, firewalls and vpns; both onsite and remote locations.
Maintain and grow existing software management tools and documentation of networks, applications and hardware.
