This leadership position is accountable to run IT as a business. They work collaboratively with domain Technical Product Managers and Owners to plan, execute/implement and run associated technologies and services. They provide the business stakeholders insight and understanding of incoming project demand requests and the active project portfolio. They help select vendor partners to achieve the business value from the projects and holds teams accountable to drive the expected business outcome. Creates business-aligned metrics and project portfolio status. Ensures SLA's are met to support the company's business and technical objectives. Interacts with Infrastructure Architects, Enterprise Architects, and IT Leadership to ensure that technology solutions are utilized effectively and meet organizational requirements. Maintains a strong relationship with Development and Support teams to deliver Infrastructure as a utility.

This position follows a Hybrid schedule: Monday-Wednesday in Grand Rapids MI office, Thursday-Friday remote (within the six state Meijer footprint MI,IN,IL,OH,WI,KY)

What You'll be Doing:
  • Responsible for the mentoring, retention, motivation, and training of the team members in their Span of Care.
  • Insight and understanding of pipeline of incoming demand requests and active project portfolio
  • Align, define, and prioritize projects and resources to flex with changing business needs
  • Align demand to resource and capacity, budget, and value proposition
  • Budget administration and forecasting, variance analysis, and show-back reporting
  • Vendor selection, working closely with procurement, legal, and technical teams for contract and negotiation and ongoing contract management.
  • Lead team of Project Managers, SCRUM Masters, and Release Train engineers
  • Own Project Portfolio to drive business outcomes, value and performance
  • Builds and maintains policies and SLA's for team and system performance, and holds vendor partner accountable.
  • Ensure deliverables and obligations are delivered timely and with quality
  • Drives Benefit realization, ROI, actual attainment against project objectives
  • Ensures Meijer team and vendors are aware of and trained in Meijer IT business management processes and procedures
  • Owns reporting governance, communication cadence, and alignment
  • Works continuously with vendor partner and internal product teams to maintain and improve technology performance and return on investment.
  • Builds and maintains effective communications with all levels and teams within ITS. Ensures that team members maintain good communications with support and development teams.
  • Acts as liaison between vendor partners and Meijer IT and Business
  • Acts as leadership liaison between Meijer Infrastructure Product Managers and assigned Agile trains to ensure support, alignment, and remove roadblocks.
  • Acts as Agile Product Manager for assigned technical tower within Infrastructure to provide guidance on priorities and overall strategic and technical direction.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training is required.
  • 5+ years of related experience in IT infrastructure environments supporting technologies and services.
  • 5+ years of related experience of project management for large or complex-sized projects in a cross-functional environment utilizing a project methodology through all life cycle phases in accordance with established direction and standards.
  • Certifications related to assigned area(s) of technology a plus.
  • Experience and ability to engage vendors to review service offerings, determine optimum solutions and negotiate agreements for Meijer use of said technology.
  • Experience overseeing managed service agreements and ensuring adherence to documented SLA's.
  • Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end-users and multiple management layers; effective interpersonal skills.
  • Strong IT Project, Program, and Portfolio management skills.
  • Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: - Ability to articulate a technical vision that fully supports the overall business planning process.
  • A broad knowledge of business and technical disciplines required to develop, evolve and support assigned technologies and related processes.
  • Strong mentoring skills for teamwork, team member development and interdepartmental communications.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies (experience and certification with Scaled Agile Framework a plus).
  • Ability to identify user requirements and align to development or enhancement features.
  • Planning and goal setting at macro and micro levels; ability to define, prioritize, schedule and monitor multiple technical projects, development and maintaining comprehensive project plans/schedules (and using same to provide senior management with accurate and complete status information).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to understand and assist in solving cross-functional problems that span multiple areas of technology.
  • Strong technical and non-technical communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of the enterprise business and business processes; awareness of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/relationships.
  • Experience in creating, enhancing, and managing process.
