Our client is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of medicines, vaccines and diagnostic products and uses biodevices and genetic testing to improve these products and services. We are recruiting top-tier candidates for the position of Biotechnology Patent Searcher to work with research scientists, patent professionals and the legal group. The Patent Searcher will support a wide range of activities from developing patent filing strategies that support the research pipeline through enforcement of the company's patent property. Successful candidates are anticipated to have experience working in vaccine, antibody, diagnostics and genetics technologies and have an understanding and experience with patentability, freedom to operate, validity, infringement, due diligence and legal status searches. Further training will be available.
We prefer candidates with some or all of the following education, skills, and experiences:
Bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical, chemical or biotechnology sciences;
Advanced degree in a biochemistry related field a+;
Experience with patent searching;
Experience using tools and resources such as STN, Patbase, Genome Quest, Derwent World STN, Patbase, Genome Quest, Derwent World Patent Index, BizInt, OVID, internet resources, Total Patents, etc.;
Working knowledge of patenting process in US, EP, PCT and other patenting authorities; and,
Expertise in searching nucleic acid and protein sequences.
