Job description:
GTW Welding Supplies is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Route Delivery Driver to join our growing team. This position is responsible for delivering industrial, medical, and specialty gas cylinders, as well as welding supplies and related equipment, to commercial, agricultural, and industrial customers throughout West Michigan.
This is a customer-facing role that requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. Our drivers are the face of GTW and play a critical role in maintaining customer relationships and delivering on our promise of small-town service, big-time reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Safely load, transport, deliver, and unload compressed gas cylinders and palletized welding supply products to customer locations on an assigned route.
Operate company CDL truck in compliance with DOT, HazMat, and company safety standards.
Perform cylinder exchanges, inventory counts, and documentation at customer sites.
Use lift gates, cylinder carts, and proper material-handling techniques to move cylinders weighing 50–250+ lbs (with appropriate equipment).
Complete daily delivery paperwork, digital logs, and customer delivery confirmations.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, complete required pre- and post-trip inspections, and report maintenance concerns.
Provide exceptional customer service, answering basic questions about products, delivery schedules, and cylinder returns.
Represent GTW Welding Supplies in a professional manner at all times.
Required Qualifications
Valid CDL Class B
HazMat (H) endorsement required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire if already CDL-licensed)
Clean driving record that meets DOT and company insurance requirements
Ability to lift, push, pull, and move gas cylinders weighing 50+ lbs (mechanical aids provided)
Must pass pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and background check
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work independently and maintain time-efficient delivery routes
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in industrial gas, welding supply, propane, fuel delivery, or similar industry
Experience with cylinder handling or HazMat materials
Forklift certification (or willingness to be trained)
Knowledge of basic paperwork for cylinder returns, BOLs, and delivery tickets
