Type of Requisition: RegularClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: NonePublic Trust/Other Required: NACI (T1)Job Family: Test EngineeringGDIT is looking for a Test Engineer to support the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Heart Lung and Blood Institute’s( NHLBI) software portfolio. You will be responsible for contributing across the software life-cycle, with an emphasis on testing. This role requires an understanding of software requirements and the ability to validate those requirements through testing. You will apply Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) approaches to align analysis and testing activities.Position is expected to remain remote but you should live within commuting distance to the client site in Bethesda, MD.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Capture and express requirements with a variety of techniques, including BDD-style specifications, API specifications, user stories, use cases and mockups
Conduct interviews and studies with product owners, users and other stakeholders to identify candidate requirements
Analyze existing systems interfaces and documents.
Develop Test Plans
Design and develop test and testing requirements for products, systems, software and/or related technology using independent judgement
Create and update automated tests
Conduct quality assurance and design performance tests using established testing procedures
Provide troubleshooting for highly complex testing errors and streamline testing procedures
Describe and execute test cases
Collaborate with the team on agile activities including to estimation, iterative planning and retrospectives
Manage the flow of development from idea to release
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLSBachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in a related technical discipline and eight years experience
Prior experience with testing system behavior using behavior-driven development (BDD), specification by example or similar approach
Experience testing functional and non-functional requirements of software systems
Minimum of three years of experience with automated software testing and developing automated tests
Must be able to obtain a NIH Public Trust
