The Field Service technician is responsible for performing quality installations, startups, troubleshooting, maintenance, construction, repair, modifications, overhauls, retrofits, calibration, inspection and servicing of Russells' environmental testing equipment and similar competitor products.
Location: Position is located in Holland, Michigan, and requires daily travel with possible overnight stays. Other locations may be considered.
Contacts customers to generate work, explaining the benefits of refrigeration and controller retrofits, preventive maintenance contracts, and general service work.
Contacts customers to coordinate service calls at their facility.
Establishes, maintains, and develops positive relationships with customers.
Troubleshoots, repairs, and calibrates various operating systems of refrigeration, electronics, and electro-mechanical components utilizing prints and schematics.
Conducts training programs on the operation and maintenance of Russells products.
Maintains a thorough knowledge warranty, maintenance, and service policies and procedures.
Maintains vehicle logs, maintenance schedules, and reports per company policy.
Advanced education or training in refrigeration or electronics and several years' experience in a service capacity.
Frequent moderate physical exertion--including lifting, climbing, bending, and carrying of objects up to 100 lbs.
Ability to climb a ladder with objects up to 100-plus lbs.
Valid Driver's License
Frequent travel to customer locations.
Ability to operate various hand tools, power tools, and test instruments.
Job demands are typical of those working independently repairing large commercial refrigeration systems. (High Voltage Electrical, High Pressure Refrigeration Systems and extreme temperatures)
