DEPARTMENT SUMMARY
The Revenue Operations Energy Assistance team is a diverse team responsible for managing the various programs offered to assist our most vulnerable customers. This team supports policy and procedure relating to energy assistance programs and ensuring strong relationships with our internal and external stakeholders, including non-profit and state agencies.
Our group is responsible for bringing awareness of assistance options to the communities we serve, monitoring the success of our strategies and outreach and developing action plans to mitigate gaps to achieving success.

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Data Visualization Analyst will be responsible for analyzing data and building reports for energy assistance programs. The Data Visualization Analyst will perform work independently, or collaboratively with partners or stakeholders identifying technologies and data sources and providing guidance and communications to all levels within the business, to ultimately produce greater insight and better decisions. Perform advanced analytical or administrative tasks associated with business processes and/or department specialization. The work is varied, advanced and offers opportunity for development projects, applying skills such as reporting and visual development, analysis, planning, design, research, budget monitoring, coordination, facilitation, and communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Support energy assistance team in reviewing, analyzing, and projecting outcomes of energy assistance programs
  • Manage and report on program performance against metrics and targets
  • Perform advanced analytical or administrative tasks associated with business processes and/or department specialization for development of projects, applying skills such as reporting and visual development, analysis, planning, design, research, budget monitoring, coordination, facilitation, and communication with customers
  • Applies an in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures within the specialization to complete the more difficult assignments and may coordinate or lead projects
  • Ability to quickly gather and form reporting requirements, learn subject matter and extract and transform data and reports (especially from Tableau to PowerBI)
  • Adept in optimizing data models and visualizations maximizing Power BIs Ability to test data model, calculations, and quality of analytical output
  • Expertise in use and application of DAX and constructing of advanced calculations
  • Strong ability to connect to variety of data sources, proficiently using the queried data in PowerBI
  • Proficient in the development artistry of highly consumable visual reports, dashboards, and data narratives
  • Strong knowledge of primary data management languages such as like SQL, Python, etc.
  • Demonstrable experience in visualization best practices, data optimization and model efficiency
  • Ability to effectively deliver and present work to the appropriate audience
  • Apply data quality assurance practices in the development of data models and resulting output
  • Deadline oriented with ability to manage concurrent deliverables
  • Work with stakeholders, including but not limited to Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Architects, and IT, to support the integration of data from multiple internal and external sources to be used for reporting

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field. Less than a bachelor’s degree may be acceptable if accompanied by extensive Company or industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.
  • 3+ years’ experience analyzing data and building reports
  • Proficiency in SQL, MS tools including excel, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query

  • Proficiency in Python
  • Team player with positive attitude and ability to work effectively with different teams
  • Creativity and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time effectively

The Data Analyst Job Family is utilized throughout the Company, including, but not limited to: accounting, analytics, auditing, budget preparation/analysis, business analysis, business negotiations, business transactions, customer service/relations, finance, cash management, materials management/supply chain, project management, records management, risk management, marketing, planning/scheduling and strategic planning.

Nature of Work
The essence of the work that is performed by the Data Analyst Job Family is a wide variety of data analysis and visualization development functions, at times involving very specific business disciplines.
At the lowest level in this job family, the work performed may tend to be of a routine and less complex nature where the work responsibilities can be proficiently performed after a relatively short training period. At this level the employee is more likely to be able to move to different functional areas of the Company.
At the highest levels in this job family the work performed will tend to be of a complex nature involving knowledge of various functional/specialized disciplines where the work responsibilities can only be proficiently performed after a relatively long training / experience-related time period. The work environment often includes dealing with risk and limiting exposure, i.e., development and maintenance of Employee Incentive Plan metrics and visualizations or coordinating Sarbanes Oxley testing and compliance.
Leadership, management, facilitation and interaction with senior management will be markedly increased at the mid - highest levels of this job family while the need for direction and supervision will be markedly decreased. While problem solving and analysis will likely be required at all levels, recommendation and implementation becomes the norm at the highest levels and will often have a major bearing on the Company’s business. In addition, skills such as the ability to think on your feet, composure under fire and effective communication across all levels of the organization and with outside customers/clients become more finely honed at the higher levels.

Essential Functions:
Data Specialists and Analysts support the Reporting and Visualization, planning, business analysis, general management, budget preparations and analysis, negotiations, transactions, customer services and auditing of a wide variety of business functions and processes of specific operating and support areas throughout the Company. Duties and reporting hierarchy will fluctuate between projects, departments and offices. Lead and/or assist with business analysis and support for the plans, reports, impacts, contracts, schedules, estimates, data collection, observations, and field investigations. Provide business analysis, visual management and support services with accuracy, on time and under budget. Use computer assisted applications software and equipment to prepare business analysis support documents. Understand and follow Company established standard procedures for file structure and standard procedures for projects. Become familiar with business and department and Company plans and related material for each project and be able to utilize the information appropriately. Assist in client contact and communication. Utilize effective communication skills to answer inquiries from coworkers, clients, or the public. Public involvement may include producing reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material as well as occasional speaking or meeting with stakeholders. Attend internal and external meetings. Provide business analysis and support services in a legal and ethical manner. Individuals should exemplify safe work practices and follow the Company’s compliance standards. Regular attendance is expected.

Hours and Travel:
This position requires the individual work at least 40 hours per week with 90% of time spent in the office/remote or specific field locations.
