The Field Operations Support team within the Information Technology department works in partnership with the IT Infrastucture End User Computing and Networks & Communications teams to support the Electric and Gas field workers's field devices (ruggedized devices - Laptops, Tablets and phones) and connectivity needs across multiple locations throughout the Consumers Energy (CE) territory.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Workstation Analyst is responsible for supporting field devices (both new and current) to ensure they works flawlessly in terms of functionality, usability and connectivity with CE's Field support applications.
This role is also expected to support the receipt of new field devices, staging, configuration, troubleshooting software as well as connectivity issue, software packaging and field deployment.
Further, it is expected that this role will conduct and/or validate needs assessments (consisting of hardware, software and connectivity) in order to successfully meet internal customers' needs.
A strong understanding of customer service is essential, as all work generated in this space will directly impact internal business customers.
Required Skills:
Perform needs assessments (hardware, software and connectivity) for internal customers' field devices
Configure and image new and used Dell desktop, laptop, and tablet computing devices
Partner with members of the IT Infrastrucure and IT Field Operations Support teams to ensure hardware is prepared correctly
Align with Refresh Coordinators to ensure PC refresh schedules are followed
Work with IT Asset Management to ensure assets are correctly accounted for and all issues are accurately and timely updated and tracked
Prepare business and technical documentation
Partner with internal customers in order to learn about business processes in an effort to gain further efficiencies in Field devices needs
Good collaboration & communication.
Configure and image new and used Dell desktop, laptop, Phones and tablet computing devices.
Workstations and mixed printer types, basic LAN network, Field communication (Cell & Radio), Windows 7 and Windows 10, and Active Directory.
