GMI is seeking a reliable and dedicated candidate to fill a full-time Laser/CNC Punch Press Programming position opening at our organization located in Chelsea, MI. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Laser/CNC punch programmer will be responsible for the following duties:
Identifying and transferring Laser/CNC punch programs to machines as required to support manufacturing operations.
Edit existing programs using MultiPunch and Striker as required to support manufacturing operations.
Read and understand prints and all relevant information to create new programs based on production requirements.
Review and edit existing programs to improve material yield or machine productivity as required.
Maintain constant workload for all Laser/CNC punch press machines.
Maintain consistent communication with manufacturing management and stay abreast of manufacturing workload priorities.
Interface with production associates to implement program corrections and updates
Draft detailed part prints as required
Provide 2-D room layout drawings as assigned
Assist lead CAD designer as required

Education/Experience
Candidates should have machining experience in sheet metal production environment.
Candidates should have experience in Laser/CNC punch press programming
Candidates should have experience in using CAD for production purposes.
Skills
Candidates must have a strong analytical background, strong math skills and problem solving ability
Candidates must be comfortable with all MS office standard programs and possess a strong background in using Microsoft Excel.
Candidates must possess strong communication skills and the ability to operate efficiently and effectively in a continuously evolving environment.
Compensation
Full-time, 40+ hours per week
