Camp Walden is looking for Camp Health Officers (CHO) for the 2019 season, June 15 through August 10 (end date is flexible). CHO's are typically NOT medical professionals but those seeking experience in the health field. Walden's CHOs live and work in the camp infirmary, and are certified in CPR/First Aid/Blood Borne Pathogens. (Walden will reimburse for certification training.)
Two to three CHOs are supervised by a Wellness Director and work with rotating camp doctors throughout the summer. CHOs assist the doctor during morning and evening "sick call"; dispense pre-packaged camper medication at meals; staff the infirmary during day and evening hours; and perform routine first aid for campers.
A great job for college students pursuing careers in nursing or health-care, especially those looking for a paid "internship." (We are willing to work with college/university departments to complete internship paperwork.)
