We are in immediate need for someone to take on the role of health officer for part or all of this summer.
We operate two small, residential, co-ed camps in Northern Michigan. The health officer is an adult who may be and RN, LPN, EMT, licensed physician, or an adult with current CPR for professional rescuer/first aid certifications. An ability and passion for working and assisting youth is very important to this role.
Health Officer's responsibilities include:
Provide routine, daily health services for campers and staff
Administers all medications and treatment according to physician's standing orders
Keeps a legal record of all treatments and camper/staff health center contacts
Is the primary contact for the parent in the event of camper injury/illness
Informs parents of campers of any camper injury, illness or doctor visit
Guides staff in regard to their responsibilities
Participates in other programs and activities as interest and time allows
Dates may be flexible.
