Job DescriptionOverlay sales personnel providing specialist product expertise to the sales force.Partners with Account, Technology, and Application sales representatives to qualify and close new business on Oracle solutions. Provides specific industry or product expertise to facilitate the closing of deals within sales representatives territory. Interacts with sales team to architect the solution, and develop and execute solution strategies for market. Manages solution opportunities to obtain appropriate and necessary resources for all qualified opportunities. Leads teams in the sales process for establishing market visibility and deal visibility. Presents/demonstrates solution to high level clients and industry conference attendees. May provide training to field sales on industry/solutions. Builds and maintains a network and up to date specific industry or product knowledge.Subject matter expertise in industry/product space. Knowledge of key industry leaders and management. Knowledge of Oracle competition. Presentation and product demonstration experience. Previous consultative selling experience preferred. Excellent communication, negotiating, and closing skills with prospects and customers. Travel may be needed. Oracle’s industry-leading Cloud is fueling enterprise digital innovation and transformation at many of the largest brands in world.The Oracle Cloud Applications organization has an immediate opening for an Executive Director of State and Local Government in the Industry Services team. This new role is positioned to take the Oracle Cloud message into the State and Local Government marketplace, directly to the C-suite like never before.As the Executive Director, you will have worked previously in a State and Local Government organization and accumulated industry-leading experience and knowledge on key industry issues, including trends, regulations, and the industry landscape. You will understand industry regulation and government issues, particularly as it relates to organizational requirements to leverage cloud capabilities including data, privacy and compliance requirements. You will also have developed an understanding of the industry value chains in State and Local Government environments, and the core processes.Additionally, you will have at least a capability-level knowledge of the information systems and technology capabilities typically used to drive the core business and organizational processes in State and Local Government and have gained experience in a transformation program that involved in whole or in part, a technology transformation to the cloud.ResponsibilitiesThis person will act both individually and via influence-leadership to coordinate Oracle resources virtually and in-person across boundaries to shape Oracle’s voice to executive audiences at State and Local Government organizations. This person engages with customers directly and regularly through sales opportunities to deliver industry-relevant messaging and ensure that our selling and technical teams capture and communicate the full value of enterprise Oracle’s Cloud business applications and effectively shape that value in terms that leaders in State and Local Government recognize and understand.This person will be seen as credible by our State and Local Government customer executives and seen internally as a thought leader who can bring industry-relevant and thought-provoking messaging in order to position institutional-relevant outcomes that will be powered by Oracle’s industry-leading cloud applications portfolio, including customer (student, alumni, network and community) engagement and experience, human capital management, ERP and financials, supply chain management, enterprise planning, etc.In addition to building close relationships with Oracle Sales leadership and sales teams, it will be the responsibility of this person to partner and engage with key internal Oracle stakeholder groups, such as Product Marketing, Product Development, Solution Engineering, and Oracle Consulting to shape our company messages, products, and delivery with a State and Local Government point of view that’s differentiated in the marketplace.This role should expect travel commensurate with approximately 50%-75% customer facing time.Role RequirementsExecutive presence and presentation skills

Evangelism; This individual will be the standard bearer for Oracles Cloud applications

Flexibility and adaptability; This individual has the ability cope with a sometimes ambiguous and changing environment, and must have an unfailing sense of humor

Capability-level understanding of common industry-specific technology and information systems

Experience; 10+ years of direct experience in one or more State and Local Government organizations. Additionally, we will consider candidates with management consulting experience and/or technology provider business development / sales experience serving State and Local Government organizations at a strategic level.
