The Carpenter is responsible for performing advanced techniques in various areas of construction trades responding to emergency and non-emergency service jobs. Responsibilities include maintaining a fully stocked and prepared company vehicle to drive to work sites, preparing, maintaining and cleaning work areas, and performing repairs per the scope of work and project manager direction.
DRYWALL/PAINTER/CARPET CLEANER - IS A PLUS
Responsibilities
Proficiency in light carpentry, framing, drywall, paint, trim and all aspects of repair that is common with handyman work
Prepare rooms / areas for work activities to include setting up staging areas, equipment and content protection
Ability to provide direction to subcontractors
Maintain clean and organized work areas to include securely storing equipment and supplies while not in use
Interface with customers and relay information to Project Manager or Superintendent when appropriate
Complete paperwork, upload documents, and provide job updates into database as needed
Complete punch list items with attention to detail
Maintain equipment in clean and working condition
Ensure the company vehicle is fully stocked at all times and travel to a nearby home improvement store to purchase needed items
Monitor the safety, security, efficiency, and appearance of the company vehicle
Monitor the safety, security and appearance of job sites
Assist with demolition and general clean up as needed
Additional Responsibilities:
Ability to safely use hand and power tools, lift 50 LBS and occasionally climb ladders, stoop, bend, kneel, and work in extreme hot, cold and humid conditions
Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours service calls
Clean driving record and background check
Required Education and Experience
1-year experience in construction and / or restoration
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Understanding of major trades processes (mechanical, electrical, plumbing)
Hands on experience in drywall, paint, trim and light carpentry
