Well established concrete construction company based out of Traverse City is looking for good people to hire. We specialize in high end residential and low end commercial poured wall foundations, footings, and flatwork.
First things first, this can be hard work. If you are out of shape, get winded easy, or don't know how to take care of yourself, I am not going to waste your time with an interview. Due to the fact that we have a schedule to keep, we can work long hours regardless of the weather. If you can't handle the heat, rain, or working in the cold, this is not the job for you. Although this is not always the case. It occurs mostly during the busy times of the year. Spring, Mid-Summer, and late Fall. The positions I am looking to fill are general labor positions with the idea that as we continue to grow in this industry, a few of you learn the job well enough to eventually become job foremen, or a field supervisor. Starting pay is $14 to $18 based on experience. Can be $20+ if you really know your stuff in this field. Raises and bonuses can be generous for the right attitude and hard work. A Class A with air brakes CDL for a manual will get you another $1 an hour. Direct deposit is an option, we outsource to a payroll service.
After a year, a fixed salary is offered as an option to give you a consistent income year around, (no need for unemployment, this in it self is actually a raise!). Raises are based on performance, eagerness to learn, ability to work unsupervised, and quality of your work. In a couple of years, you could be making $20+ an hour salaried, with a company truck of your own, vacation time, with paid time off during the winters. Not a bad deal for busting your ass for a few months out of the year, and steady work for a few more.
