Electronic Publishing International Sales & Distribution Manager
World Trade Press is a publishing and information products company specializing in large-scale databases of country information in the areas of culture, travel, business, international trade, local living, language, and food. Our content is world class and fills multiple needs.
We have approximately 2,400 domestic institutional clients which include K-12 schools, public libraries, academic institutions, global corporations, and government agencies. The bulk of our US distribution is handled by an in-house team of salespeople. We have been in business since 1993 and are located in Traverse City, Michigan.
Currently Seeking
We are currently seeking an International sales and distribution manager. This is a key position within the company and reports directly to the publisher.
In summary, the job is to establish, promote, and maintain a minimum of 40 new international distributors (resellers) for sales to Secondary Schools, Public Libraries, Academic Institutions, Global Businesses, and Government Agencies worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for sales results through active development and management of an international network of distributors and resellers
Prioritize market segments and customer types to achieve sales targets.
Identify and develop appropriate international distribution partners, including negotiation of terms and conditions
Provide new distributors with training and support materials as required
Develop annual plans, sales goals and strategy
Education
Bachelors degree in business, management, administration, or marketing, or 5 years equivalent sales experience.
Required Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office inclusive of Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
A high degree of familiarity with CRM systems
Excellent writing skills
Excellent negotiating skills
A hunter mentality
An entrepreneurial spirit
Preferred Experience
The following are not specific requirements, but would be very helpful:
Experience in sales of intangible products/services
Experience establishing distributorships
International sales/marketing experience
Experience in the publishing industry.

This is an in-house position. No tele-commute possible.
Required travel
Participate in a minimum of three international and one domestic US trade shows each year.

Compensation
Base salary, commissions, and bonuses.
Salary is open, however, we fully expect that the successful candidate will make $65,000-80,000 the first year and $80,000 to 100,000 the second year, and $100,000 plus the third year
