We provide integrated, affordable and quality primary medical, dental and behavioral health care to vulnerable populations of Oakland County, regardless of ability to pay.Job Description: Reporting to the Partnerships and Development Manager, the Communications & Events Intern will assist the Communications, Development, and Outreach Department with strategy and implementation of their departmental goals. The Communications & Events Intern will be responsible for creation of a variety of materials, including social media plans, press releases, promotional materials, signage, newsletter content, and other PR-related content. The Communications & Events Intern will assist the team with drafting reports and tracking activities for reporting purposes. Additionally, the intern will assist with developing content for fundraising campaigns and aid in planning both internal and external events for the organization. The Communications & Events Intern employs excellent communications skills and complies with HIPAA policies during all interactions and completion of any job duties. Works collaboratively to create and maintain a culture of excellence and dedication to providing compassionate and high quality health care to residents and the community. This position is non-paid and requires college credit.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist in the strategy and implementation of communications campaigns for the organization, including the creation of signage, newsletters, social media plans, etc.

Develop materials for media and community relations, including promotional materials, packets for partners, press releases, one-pagers, fact sheets, patient stories, etc.

Provide assistance in the creation of materials for monthly health promotion activities and track and maintain calendar for events and awareness days

Work with team on planning and implementing internal events for staff members, such as wellness days, holiday parties, etc. and external events, including the annual National Health Center Week events, open houses, etc.

Assist with fundraising activities including developing materials for campaigns, updating databases, planning events, creating case for support, etc.

Update and maintain databases for tracking and reporting of activities related to outreach, communications, fundraising, events, etc.

Attend meetings, events, or activities that the organization is sponsoring or participating in, such as outreach events, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: A current student studying Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Journalism. College credit is required.EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two or more years of post-secondary verbal and written communications skills preferred. Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office and internet. Compensation and Benefits:College credits
