Job Summary The Team Leader, Marketing Insights leads a team of analysts leveraging a variety of market assessment capabilities to inform business growth strategy across Rock Holdings Inc. They are responsible for bringing together advanced research methods, market intelligence, business analytics and financial acumen to frame market-back growth opportunities, identify alternative solutions to address these opportunities and determine criteria necessary for execution.
Responsibilities
Design, staff and lead a uniquely diverse team to produce comprehensive, synthesized solutions to complex business questions and problems in a way that drives sustainable growth
Guide the team to synthesize business analytics, advanced research methods, market intelligence and financial acumen to systematically answer strategic business questions/problems
Build a collaborative consulting team approach that is fully integrated into the business to improve the degree to which the insights-gleaning process is both comprehensive and synthesized
Reduce the dependency on costly resources that can only provide directional answers
Lead and support their team members on their performance and career development goals
Execute front-end market assessment, primary and secondary market research and back-end financial modeling within the product development process to co-create go/no-go recommendations that can easily be compared
Design data products, processes, platforms and other instruments for researching economies of scale for recurring insights needs (e.g., new product development)
Create fully automated, sustainable and analytic scanning systems that trigger alerts or communications when opportunities and risks are detected
Prioritize comprehensive surveillance of competitors, non-customers and non-core areas
Stay abreast of new business analytic techniques, research practices, software, learning theories and other advancements
Assist with defining and aligning the road map for insights, communicating mission statement and team operating model
Assist with building a culture of insights within the product strategy team
Stay current on organizational, state, federal and international policies on data, as well as accounting practices and standards
Ensure the team stays compliant with current Marketing Research Association (MRA) Codes of Research Standards
