CHEF JOB DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY
Chef responsibilities include executing recipes, creating menus and preparing high-quality dishes. You should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure food is prepared in a timely manner. Must be ServeSafe certified If you’re someone with experience in advanced cooking techniques and non-traditional ingredients, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you’ll prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Establish procedures and protocols for kitchen set up and break down
● Study, build on and create recipes
● Prepare food in a timely manner
● Delegate tasks to sous chef and kitchen staff
● Create and execute daily specials
● Ensure appealing plate presentation
● Supervise staff and assist as needed
● Address and adjust to guests dietary needs
● Order all food and kitchen supplies
● Maintain proper food costs and report to owner
● Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen
● Be aware of current food trends
REQUIREMENTS
● 2+ years of proven work experience as a Chef
● Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
● Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking and pastry techniques
● Leadership skills
● Ability to remain calm and multitask
● Excellent time management abilities
● ServeSafe certified
● Culinary school diploma preferred
