Spec, Product Compliance
Location: Roseau, Minnesota US
JOB SUMMARY:
Support new product development at Polaris as a Specialist on the Product Compliance team. Obtain required certifications for snowmobiles and other off-road vehicles. Track and implement global product regulations including emissions, noise, and product safety standards. Execute compliance processes and systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Obtain and maintain off-road vehicle emissions and other product certifications, including US EPA, CARB, SSCC, ANSI/SVIA, ANSI/ROHVA, ANSI/OPEI, US Forest Service, Transport Canada, EU type approval, and other international certifications.
2. Support engineering research and development activities to ensure compliance by design for new products.
3. Plan and coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and marketing to achieve timely product compliance validation, approval, and implementation.
4. Conduct product development process (PDP) and part release system (PRS) compliance reviews.
5. Interface with regulatory agencies and third party certification authorities as needed.
6. Represent Polaris as assigned on industry association technical committees to track new requirements.
7. Maintain and support development of compliance processes and systems.
8. Track pre-certification vehicles and engines, and monitor warranty claims per applicable regulations.
9. File required periodic regulatory agency reports.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:
B.S. degree in engineering or science with 1-3 years relevant experience
Prior experience in product compliance and/or vehicle certification preferred
Powersports enthusiast with vehicle systems knowledge
High ethical standards and excellent research and communication skills
