Mechanical Drafter. This position will be responsible for Creo modeling, component drawings, assembly drawings, production fixture design, and procurement for new product introductions. This position is located in Bloomington, MN.
Position Duties:
Works with lead engineer and manufacturing engineering to ensure the manufacturability of the product and takes ownership of any design challenges brought forward.
Prepares assembly and component drawings for manufacturing.
Coordinates and actively participates in all activities associated with prototype builds and prototype part procurement.
Participates in production fixture design and procurement.
Coordinates tooling quotes and part approval with tooling vendors.
Closely monitors and participates in prototype builds and pre-production runs to ensure that the final assembly is correct and in accordance with the documented product design.
Participates in the redesign of existing products in an effort to reduce components or manufacturing cost, improve performance or enhance capabilities of products as assigned.
Makes recommendations to engineering lead regarding product design as it relates to tooling or manufacturability.
Position Requirements:
Drafting and Design Certificate, minimum two year certificate or degree
0-3 years of related work experience
Strong working knowledge of Creo and Windchill
Understanding of plastic injection molding and tool design
Test fixture design experience
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Knowledge of the heavy vehicle, off-road, and motorcycle industries a plus
