We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Scrum Master/Project Manager at our Bloomington, MN location (currently remote) on our Pharmacy Plan Admin Systems Team. The position will be responsible for working with project teams on the delivery of a large, major and highly important initiative which will span multiple years and has many challenges to keep the most inquisitive mind busy. The Scrum Master / Project Manager plays a critical role as a facilitator, coach and servant leader in IS & T development initiatives and is responsible for ensuring agility and continuous improvement of and within their team.

As a Scrum Master/Project Manager:
  • Manages and coordinates major initiatives across technical and application infrastructure.
  • Assesses, plans, and implements mitigation strategies for identified risks; proactively escalates issues and devises contingency plans to stakeholders.
  • Coordinates and manages resources; including vendor activities and relationships.
  • Identifies the project scope, goals, and critical success factors in consultation with business and IS&T sponsors.
  • Analyzes project plans for dependencies; identifying critical path issues and other project dependencies.
  • Coordinates and communicates project plans and activities across project participants and stakeholders as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
  • Plans, tracks and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Tracks and communicates project milestones and deliverables.
  • Creates and maintains issue logs; coordinating and ensuring resolution of all outstanding project issues.
  • Creates and maintains risk logs; creates and maintains mitigation plans for risks.
  • Consults with Business sponsors, stakeholders and subject matter experts to guide business analysis and requirements documentation.
  • Provides consultation regarding project issues and difficulties; leading project recovery or strategic initiatives.
  • Facilitate the activities of an Agile software development team encouraging and supporting the teams to self-manage their iterations using a servant-leader management style.
  • Ensure self-organized team's continuous improvement through monitoring and coaching.
  • Assist the Product Owner in maintaining a product strategy/roadmap through story mapping and other Agile activities.
  • Work with the Product Owners and Business Analysts to identify that the product backlog is prioritized and refined to the appropriate level to start and continue development iterations.
  • Schedule and facilitate all Scrum team ceremonies including release and sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Remove impediments for the team(s) and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Develop team members through coaching and by fostering a positive work environment.
  • Collaboratively partner with various levels throughout the organization to achieve goals and remove impediments.
  • Responsible for collecting and preparing metrics such as the teams capacity, velocity, burndown rate, and health on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist with deployment and release planning and if necessary coordinate across multiple teams.
  • Produce and deliver reports which convey team performance and value gained.
  • Understand the fundamentals of Agile and iterative development.
  • Expert facilitator and collaborator.
  • High energy, effective leader with the attitude of empowerment and ability to lead their team to self-organization

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Scrum Master for 3+ years with a software development team.
  • 5+ years of successful project management experiences.
  • Experience managing projects using different approaches (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, Blended, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in a continuous deployment environment.
  • Scrum Master Certification or equivalent training

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Scrum Professional or Coach Certification.
  • PMP or ACP-PMI Certification from Project Management Institute or similar accreditation.
  • 4 year degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Etc.
  • Experience working with teams supporting user experience design
