THE ROLE EBM Software is a rapidly growing SaaS FinTech that provides comprehensive, innovative, and fully integrated Business Optimization software that complements our clients’ existing systems and delivers transformative ROI to their company. We work with corporate and private equity clients on complex decisions that involve strong analysis, extensive modeling, and advanced data analytics across a wide variety of industries. EBM Software is looking to hire a SQL Developer who is driven to broaden their level of experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Here you’ll work on an innovative product that is transforming many mid-market companies across North America. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to work on many functions of the core product from performance optimizations to new table design, deployment, testing, and support. You’ll see all aspects of the software and be empowered to make a big impact by asking important questions and working closely with all stakeholders. The SQL Developer will: · Tackle hard to solve SQL performance challenges involving complex stored procedures, and predefined ETL processes · Design, develop, and implement relational models throughout the systems lifecycle · Implement, update, and/or maintain SQL stored procedures, views, tables, and other objects to assist in the ongoing development of the solution · Work with the rest of the team to define specific database tests to ensure that all aspects of any change is fully validated before deploying to production · Troubleshoot DevOps deployment related issues and help define performance testing and benchmarking to ensure we proactively address production issues
WHAT IT TAKES This role demands a passion for all things database, an interest in broadening one’s experience, and strong written and verbal communication. EBM Software is a scaling company in the FinTech space – we care about results and are all eager to jump in and get our hands dirty. Important competencies to effectively perform this role include: · Experience writing T-SQL script, stored procedures, functions, etc. · A passion for digging into and addressing SQL related performance issue by asking big questions and addressing the root causes. · An interest in expanding an individual’s knowledge to many parts of the SDLC, by working in conjecture with other members of the team. · A wish to demonstrate ownership of many parts of the application, including database architecture, process flow, and testing and deployment.
WHAT YOUR RESUME SHOWS While we’re looking for some specific experiences and skill sets, nothing is more important than a strong can-do attitude, resilience in the face of change, and a passion for learning and creating. Some of the things you might bring to the role include: · Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science related discipline.
