OverviewFairview Ridges Hospital is a 150 bed facility and is located in Burnsville, MN. The Ortho Spine Surgical unit is looking for an RN to support their 26 bed unit. This unit cares for adult orthopedics, spine, total joint replacements, general surgery and post-surgical recovery patients.Fairview Ridges has been named a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery™ and a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement™ by Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.About this position:
This position works 60 hours every two weeks and is benefit eligible.
12 hour shifts, on the Night shift (7 pm to 7 am) and works every third weekend (F, S, S)
Nurse to patient ratios on the Night shift is 6:1.
Responsibilities/Job DescriptionThe registered nurse is responsible for providing patient and family centered nursing care following established standards, professional practice guidelines and MN Nurse Practice act. The nurse will have an essential role in coordinating care with physicians, care coordinators, patients, and families and delegates responsibilities as appropriate. The RN on this unit will cross train to post op surgical, oncology, and complex medical patients. Epic is used for computerized medical records charting.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
MN RN license in good standing
Must be a current Fairview Ridges Hospital Ortho/Spine MS 6 employee
BLS for health care providers
AD in Nursing
Preferred qualifications:
BSN- or willing to obtain within 2 years
