Work Type : FULL TIMEFacility: GWINNETT MEDICAL DULUTHOther information:Department: SPORTS MED SUPPORTShift/Hours : Weekdays and Weekends 40 hours per weekSummary:The Athletic Trainer II is responsible for the care of injured athletes, from adolescents to geriatrics, at community sporting events and on the practice/playing field. This includes professional and collegiate level coverage. The Athletic Trainer II assesses, instructs and treats athletes with movement dysfunction and physical disability caused by pain or injury. The Athletic Trainer II administers immediate advance care and develops a treatment program based on the nature of the injury, including follow-up with physician as appropriate. The athletic trainer II communicates with the injured athlete, physician, coach, and family as appropriate. Acts as a resource for AT team and will p romote the role of a certified athletic trainer across GHS boundaries and the community by identifying educational or clinical needs. Will provide high level services to organizations and their athletes.Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training, or masters degree in Health, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or equivalent degree.
Current Certification (in good standing) by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification, Inc.
Current ATC State of Georgia License or eligible.
Minimum of five years certified athletic training experience.
Professional or semiprofessional organizational experience preferred.
