Senior User Experience Designer

100% remote

Contract to hire

Candidate will be working with a UX team's including UX Designers and researchers on a large strategic initiative.

What experience will set candidates apart from one another? UX Research experience is a must-have. Healthcare and/or Enterprise Software experience are big pluses.

LOCATION: Remote

TEAM STRUCTURE: Typical team size is 1 to 6 UX team members supporting a product team with 2-3 product roles and 6-12 developers. The Principal role is usually on projects on the larger side of those numbers.

What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background, etc.)?
• At least 5 years of UX experience
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Information Architecture, Communications, Computer Science, a related discipline, OR two years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of user-centered design
• Portfolio of relevant user experience design and/or research project deliverables.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences at various levels of our organization.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team and internal clients.
• Experience gathering user research and testing concepts with users to inform design decisions.
• Ability to work with designers and developers to implement new ideas.

What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position?
• Collaborate with team members to identify, prioritize and implement design solutions in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Use wireframes, flow diagrams, sketches, storyboards, mockups, and/or high-fidelity prototypes to communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process.
• Advocate for user-centered research and design principles.
• Gather insights and test concepts with users in order to inform design decisions
• Communicating the user experience at various stages of the design process by using wireframes, flow diagrams, sketches, storyboards, mockups, and/or high-fidelity prototypes.

What skills/attributes are required (Please be detailed as to number of years of experience)?
• At least 5 years of UX experience
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Information Architecture, Communications, Computer Science, a related discipline, OR five years of relevant work experience.
• Experience gathering user research and testing concepts with users to inform design decisions.

What skills/attributes are preferred (will set a candidate apart)?
• Experience with enterprise software.
• Experience with medical or healthcare industries.
• Knowledge of UX related analytics and metrics.
• Experience in practical application of accessibility standards and guidelines.
• Experience in group facilitation, user interviews, heuristic evaluations, task analysis, usability test moderation and card sorting.
• Master's degree or higher in Design, HCI, Psychology, Information Architecture, or related discipline.

What does the interview process look like?
• 2-3 rounds of interviews including a portfolio presentation.
